I agree with you, building three dams is a large and uncertain length to go when safer things can be done. I believe the precautionary principle is very helpful in situations such as this one; if people were to decide to do such big things without weighing out the possible consequences, the world would probably be in a pretty disrupted state. Great post and great grasp of the precautionary principle.
You did a good job in picking the main points from the article and summarizing them in 300 words. You also bought about a good argument that has many pros and cons, however I will have to agree with you and Kiera in this argument that building dams is not the best solution to fix the water problem. There must be better alternatives to fixing the problem in a more environmentally friendly way.
You did a very good job of discussing essential information, and providing clear points of discussion as to whether building dams would negatively or positively affect the problem at hand. You also provided good points on whether or not this particular case is using the precautionary principle, great work!
You did a good job picking out the key parts of the article that use the precautionary principle. I found the second paragraph especially interesting. You make a good argument for the use of the principle. It was a good idea show a valid argument against the precautionary principle, and then give reasons why that would be wrong. It makes the article and this blog much more convincing.
